  • Wow! This is going to shock everyone that I'm actually going to post on here. Oh, I've been lurking in the shadows all along, reading other peoples posts(and enjoying most of them). And I fully intended to start an actual blog back in January, you know New Years resolution, but it seems I never have the time for it. The last two posts on here were done by my kids.

Anyways, what I wanted to share with you is an excellent piece written by "Echoes of Aberdeen" about your vote. I hope this link works as I am computer illiterate.

  • Happy 27th Anniversary, Dad and Mom!

You're the greatest!  Just know that whenever your children discuss successful marriages to study, you two are right up there.  We love you.

  • Tag! Your It

O.K. This is my second time to write this post. The first is lost forever in cyberspace I guess.

I got tagged by Lil Gramm and I'm supposed to confess 5 crazy/weird things about myself. let's see...

1)When I was little, I ate snails, fresh out of the garden.  No garlic or butter, just plain old garden soil. ( I was really little!)

    2) I don't have a middle name.  My folks must have been having a mind block or something. It does get hard to think of so many names.

    3) I was my high school's biggest sports fan, attended every football and basketball game. As a fan, I felt it was my job to cheer on the team, so I did. The cheerleaders didn't like the way I would out yell them, or start the other fans cheering while they stood around trying to empress somebody? (I realize now that some of the things I yelled were not very Christian. )

    4) When I was first married, I swore I would NOT have 11 kids like my mom.

    5)  I climbed to the top of Half Dome in a thunder storm (not recommended). Hey, I made it that far, I wasn't about to turn back because of a little thunder and lightning. As it turned out, the rain made the rock sooooo slick, one poor lady descending the cables below me had to be air lifted out after a 50ft fall. Some of my kids were afraid I was going to fall too, but never fear, my Prince Charming  climbind up the out side of the cables and brought me down to safety.

Now it my turn to tag somebody right? How about Mr. Gramm (since you haven't written anything besides your opening post way back in the summer), and Jan MV (I know you're out there reading this. Tell us something we don't all ready know.)

  • It's been so long since my last post, that I even thought of closing down my xanga because I never use it. When I do finally sign on , it takes me hours to get caught up on what everyone is up to.

Yes, we are home in California again and trying to get back to some kind of normal schedule. We have resumed Pizza Nights (this Friday) and Beach Nights (next Thursday) once again for those of you who might be interested.  And besides work, which used to be Jack, Chris, and Justin, before OKC, now Mandy, Annie, Willie, and Merrie are also heading out most mornings leaving Tiffany and I to hold down the fort. It just seems a little strange having all of them gone so soon if you know what I mean?

While in OKC we met several families who encouraged us to pursue the idea of putting together a CD of our family. This is something we mostly just talked about in the past, but with that encouragement, we have started recording one day a week. So far it has just been the quartet, and they're doing a great job. You can hear an un-edited clip on Mandy's site loveisnumber1 .

We were also invited to sing a full concert at a church down in Chula Vista (San Deigo area for those of you who don't know). This was a first for the family. THANK YOU! to all who kept us in prayer. In Jack's words "We never should have done as well as we did". The Quartet has had lots of experience singing in front of people, but not the rest of us.   Merrie and Tiffany sang a beautiful duet and were joined by Annie on flute and Mandy on piano. Jackie, Joanna, Alyssa, and Trevor did a great job with their own quartet. And Charity's solo was wonderful. ( and I'm not just saying this because they're my kids ). But more than the music, God used our family to touch peoples lives in a positive way, and that's what really counts.

Well, this is getting long, I better quit before I have a whole book here....
